We are on tour through the USA for the screening of liquid land, the documentary film of Michelle Ettlin about some of the most interesting improvisers of New Orleans. I had the pleasure to do the sound recordings for the film in 2010. On tour we play an additional concert series with Simon Berz, Helen Gillet, Moose Jackson, James Singleton, Mark Southerland and me on tape guitar.

„-zwischen uns“

Die Ausstellung zeigt das technische und kommunikative Experimentierfeld zwischen Gruppe und Individuum. Während die Gruppe die Kreativität und Professionalität des Einzelnen unterstützt entstehen gerade im Dialog, in der Reaktion, neue Impulse und Bildsprachen. Hierzu öffnen wir unsere Werkstätten, stellen gemeinsam mit geladenen Künstlern aus, und suchen die Interaktion mit dem Besucher. Über den Tag verteilten Workshops folgt ein musikalisches Abendprogramm.
Der Alte Gießerei Berlin e. V. ist ein gemeinnütziger Verein, der derzeit aus 20 jungen Menschen besteht. In den Räumlichkeiten einer ehemaligen Gießerei in Berlin-Lichtenberg haben wir Werkstätten zur gemeinsamen Nutzung aufgebaut.

Letters from the Field is a group exhibition and publication curated by the nine residents of the Node Center for Curatorial Studies 2012 summer program. Letters from the Field features work by twenty artists currently working in Berlin. The resident curators have invited artists to respond to six contemporary topics that address histories, futures, and fictions. The form of the artists’ responses range from written content to video, painting, sculpture and performance.

Functioning as a conceptual framework to the exhibition, the publication contains artists’ contributions and essays by curators in a series of eight chapters. The book is presented in a malleable format that can be edited by the viewer, with a chapter left partially blank for additional responses.

These assembled elements attempt to reveal the process of the production of ideas and critical methodologies. Through collaboration and correspondence, Letters from the Field is an experiment in exposing what our present is.

There will be performances by Lynda Amer Meziane and Nicolas Puyjalon at the opening reception.

The participating artists are Heba Amin, Stephan Backes, Megan Cotts, Regina De Miguel, Kate Hers, Sharon Houkema, Klaas Hübner, Michiel Huijben, Stine Marie Jacobsen, Lindsay Lawson, Ruth Le Gear, François Martig, Alex Martinis Roe, Lynda Amer Meziane, Nicolas Puyjalon, Annika Rixen, Rebecca Smith, Aiko Tezuka, Ciarán Walsh, and Ylva Westerlund.

Letters from the Field is curated by Lee Foley, Catherine Gomersall, Gladys-Katherina Hernando, Sinejan Kılıç, Maeve Mulrennan, Iohanna Nicenboim, Marília Pasculli, Dunja Rmandić, and Tanya Toft.

The exhibition is produced by the Node Center for Curatorial Studies, Berlin.

Antonis Anissegos (b.1970, Thessaloniki, Greece) works regularly mostly throughout Europe as a pianist and composer. He appears mainly on concerts and recordings in the field of contemporary creative music. In the last years he performs often as an electronic musician. Andreas Karaoulanis (b.1980, Thessaloniki, Greece), comes from a Computer Science and Animation background. His current work deals with interactive media design and animation. Schwämme, in die man Amouroses hineinspricht; wenn dann ein anderer sie drückt, vernimmt er die Worte, fühlt sie, es ist ungeheuerlich, Ein- und Ausfall. - Jürgen von der Wense (1894-1966) war ein Universalgelehrter, der zeitlebens von einem All-Buch träumte und die Welt schliesslich auf 30000 Seiten inventarisierte. Alphabetisch, provisorisch und euphorisch.
Corsin Gaudenz und sein Team geben einen Einblick in das allumfassende, allgleichzeitige Wahrnehmen Jürgen von der Wenses. Sie flüstern in die schwarze Fabrik hinein und hören das Wensische Universum heraus, Ventilatoren verteilen die aufsteigenden Wolken von Aperçus, an der Kellerwand regnen sie Sprach-Schauer poetischer Dinge ab, die Strapex Cordomatic bündelt kurzfristig die Gedankenformationen, bis sich die Ordnung erneut verflüchtigt.

Das Projekt „lass uns immer aufbrechen und nie ankommen. eine verzettelung“ ist ein Theaterstück zum Kosmos eines Vielschreibers. Der Sonderling Wense hinterliess ein riesiges, unvollendetes Werk: Ein barockes Gebilde, das er in immer neuen Ordnungsverfahren umschichtete und mit Anmerkungen versah, bestehend aus Reflexionen, Dichtungen und Studien über alle Fachgebiete hinweg. Einmal wissenschaftlich, einmal poetisch, kartographieren die Texte die tiefgreifende Auseinandersetzung eines Menschen mit der Welt.

Corsin Gaudenz und sein Team geben im Fabriktheater einen Einblick in dieses Werk der Unmöglichkeit, begriffen in ständiger Bewegung und Überarbeitung. Das Publikum begibt sich mit auf diese Inventarisierungsreise und einen Theaterabend, der das Aufschreiben der Dinge erzählt und erlebbar macht.
