Live recording session improvised in Berlin with self-built fruit oscillators by sound artist Klaas Huebner and a few electronic devices.
Different moods and organic quality of sound set with the same stuff. From harsh and chaotic noises to minimal continuous sound, this one hour improvisation is perfectly led by the duo.

After a successfull *diy Festival in Zürich, Badabum Broadcast of Radio Lora / Zürich invited several artist to talk about the festival, diy culture and circuit bending. DIY-Festival Zürich

diy* — Art and Technology Festival
Friday 5^th until Sunday 7^th December 2008, Zurich
* do it together, the culture of collaborative art-making
Exhibition, concerts, talks, workshops and a juried prize: the festival of Making Art is being held for the 4^th time and is once again conceived as a transdisciplinary platform for those who aren’t satisfied with commercial products and artwork, as well as people who prefer to tailor their tools by themselves to fit their own wishes.
The venue is Dynamo and its open workshops in the center of the city of Zurich. The festival is being organized by the Swiss Mechatronic Art Society, SGMK, in partnership with the Cycle Opérant art collective.

Amongst other artists matchees is going to show how to built oscillators (inspired by Nic Collins) in a walk-in workshop. We are gonna pack them nicely in plastic fruits (or whatever comes to hand) and have a nice fruit-salad at the end of the day. It is gonna be delicious in taste and sound. Oscillator signals will be send through both your dish and your body; you are welcome to have a try and become a living switch.

The installation uses balloons as resonating bodies, employes them as speakers and microphones. The observer is free to replace the balloons, create feedback or indicate sounds. "balloon treatment"can be modulated and played. Some balloons are provided with LEDs so they can visually indicate the acoustic input signals.

The title of the show refers to an American cliché, which proposes that as we move through life our assertion of what is "home" invariably changes. Many of you are not native to Berlin, Germany, or Europe itself. Some of you may have been born and raised here. You represent a typically diverse population of a large metropolis. We are interested in the proximity or distance, both cultural and emotional, from what you consider home.

Your task is to reflect on what home means to you. Where do you come from, and where do you find yourself now? Discover how your partner expresses these reflections and incorporate them. Your piece should claim a unified idea of home, or the absence of home. How do you answer the questions, 'Where are you from' and 'What is your home?' Het Rondeel ist taking part in the Kunsttour 2008 in Maastricht. Again we gonna come together from all over Europe to create a diverse Happening and present our works.

the Cabaret Voltaire (Zürich) invited Kaspar König and Simon Berz to perform for 10 days in the DADA-House, the place were DADA was born in 1916. Among other guests I gonna be there with my vegetables and make a fruit salat delicous in taste and sound.

Amalgamation

"Because art is made of the same material as the social exchanges, it
has a special place in the collective production process. A work of
art has a quality that sets it apart from other things produced by
human activities. This quality is its (relative) social transparency.
If a work of art is successful, it will invariably set its sights
beyond its mere presence in space: it will be open to dialogue,
discussion, and that form of inter-human negotiation that Marcel
Duchamp called 'the coefficient of art,'…The work of art actually
shows (or suggests) not only its manufacturing and production process, its position within the set of exchanges, and the place, or function, it allocates to the beholder, but also the creative behaviour of the artist…So every canvas produced by Jackson Pollock so closely links the flow of paint to an artist's behaviour, that the latter seems to
be the images of the former."
